Introduction

These Terms and Conditions govern the participation in the Kilkivan Great Horse Ride Social Media Photo-Sharing Competition for individuals who participate at this years Kilkivan Great Horse Ride (the “Event”). By participating, entrants agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions. 

2.0 Eligibility

2.1 The competition is open to individuals old enough to have an active and valid Facebook and or Instagram account. 

2.2 Eligible photos will need to be photos capturing moments that  

(i) lead up to the event (ie preparation traveling)  

(ii) are during the event 

(iii) are during associated activities run by the event 

(iv) lead out of the event (ie packing up traveling home) 

2.3 Participants must have attended the event and taken the photo themselves. 

2.4 Participants must like the official Kilkivan Great Horse Ride page associated with the platform they are posting to (ie either Facebook or Instagram) 

2.5 Participants must share the pic to their chosen social media page or profile (ie Facebook and or Instagram) 

2.6 Participants must tag our Page in the post. 

2.7 Participants must use the hashtag #KGHR2025 (this is how we will search for eligible photos) 

3.0 Competition Period:

3.1 The competition begins on Wed 9th April and ends on Fri 17th April. 

3.2 Entries submitted outside the competition period will not be considered. 

4.0 How to Enter:

4.1 Participants must post a photo to their preferred social platform either Facebook or Instagram. 

4.2 The photo must be posted on the platform including the hashtag #KGHR2025 and tagging Kilkivan Great Horse Ride.   

4.3 Participants will need to have liked the Kilkivan Great Horse Ride Page on the social platform they are using to post. 

4.4 Multiple entries are allowed per person. 

4.5 Participants may submit images on both Facebook and Instagram as winners will be chosen from each platform. 

4.6 The entry must be the original work of the participant and not infringe on any copyrights or trademarks. 

5.0  Judging & Winner Selection:

5.1 Entries will be judged based on criteria such as creativity, originality, relevance, image quality, etc. 

5.2 The judging panel will consist of representatives from the Kilkivan Great Horse Ride Committee and or independent judges. 

5.3 The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entertained regarding the outcome. 

5.4 Winners will be announced on 1st May via social media and our website. 

6.0 Prizes:

6.1 The winner(s) will receive $100 cash via bank transfer to their preferred account. 

6.2 If a winner cannot be contacted, an alternative winner may be selected. 

7.0 Rights & Usage:

7.1 By entering the competition, participants grant Kilkivan Great Horse Ride and its committee the non-exclusive right to use, reproduce, and share the submitted photos for promotional and marketing purposes. 

7.2 Participants confirm that their submissions do not violate any rights of third parties. 

8.0 Liability & Disqualification:

8.1 Kilkivan Great Horse Ride is not responsible for lost, late, or incomplete entries due to technical failures. 

8.2 Any entry deemed inappropriate, offensive, or violating competition rules will not be considered. 

8.3 Participants who attempt to manipulate or abuse the competition in any way may be disqualified. 

9.0 Privacy & Data Protection:

9.1 Participants’ personal data will only be used for competition purposes and in accordance with Kilkivan Great Horse Ride’s privacy policy. 

10.0 Acceptance of Terms:

10.1 By participating in this competition, entrants agree to abide by these terms and conditions in full.
