A new management committee was formed for the Kilkivan Great Horse Ride Association at a well-attended meeting held in the Gympie Regional Council offices on 22 September 2026.
The next step for the management committee is to form a sub-committee to be responsible for the event planning of the next Kilkivan Great Horse Ride.
The sub-committee must be members of the association and therefore live within Division 6 of the Gympie Local Government Area. However, the sub-committee can recruit ‘volunteers’ to take on coordination roles and those volunteers can come from anywhere.
Kilkivan Great Horse Ride & Kilkivan Country Festival is an annual event held in Kilkivan, South-East Queensland. The event is organised by the Kilkivan Great Horse Ride Inc., a not-for-profit community organisation run by volunteers.
